We made this website using Django as our web framework and BootStrap as our frontend (They are fast to build and we would like to focus on the contents of this website). We self host Umami for analytics, but we are only interested in how many views and visits this website gets a month, we don't track your IP or who you are (you can't even register on this website duh!). See their demo here: https://eu.umami.is/share/LGazGOecbDtaIwDr/umami.is

We host this website on a generic VPS and bought the domain from a generic domain registrar (Any reputable providers will do it). Setting up the whole project (server plus Django plus Umami but without media files such as photos, pdf, videos) takes up \( \approx 3.6GB \) of storage. Currently, the Debian server is using \( \approx 4 GB \) of storage and \( \approx 850 MB \) of RAM to host Budgie Kitten.

P.S. We don't earn money from this website and Budgie Kitten is just a place for us to learn and share new knowledge, and we love writing together. And we are both privacy and security conscious, we understand it's annoying to be spied and fed ads.

We both use Overleaf for writing articles together. And on our website we use MathJax

For Debian, you can just download the editor and the \(\TeX\) distribution from the Debian package using the command line. Remember to change the build path to (/path/to/texlive, which can be found using:

which tex
